MEET OUR TEAM

Justin D. Caplin

Attorney

Justin has focused on divorce, child custody, juvenile court, and protective order cases since he was in law school, clerking at Moody Brown Law, Utah County’s top divorce and family law firm. He continued working at Moody Brown until he and his wife decided it was time to return home to St. George in 2017.

Justin now exclusively handles Child Custody and Abuse-related cases, focusing on cases involving minor children, including co-parenting disputes, child abuse, false allegations of abuse, grandparent involvement, protective orders, DCFS involvement, etc. Justin has represented clients in hundreds of court appearances and mediations, defending what is most important to them: their relationship with their children. Justin will always give his honest assessment and advice, not merely tell you what you want to hear.

Jennifer Dobson

Attorney

Jennifer began her career as a high school teacher in Las Vegas after graduating cum laude from Brigham Young University. She wanted to do more than just refer students when they came to her with stories of abuse and trauma, so she attended law school at Brigham Young University and graduated in 2007. She began work at a family law firm in Utah County where she learned the ins and outs of divorce, custody, and protective orders. Jennifer also completed advanced training as a Utah approved mediator. As an attorney, she found the most satisfaction in of helping victims of abuse.

Jennifer stepped away from the practice of law while she and her husband started their family and relocated to Indiana for her husband’s career and schooling.  They have since relocated to southern Utah, where she has enjoyed serving in the community; specifically in her children’s classrooms, at Switchpoint, and in her church. She also loved serving at the St. George Children’s Museum as both a board member and president.

With her children now in school full-time, Jennifer found a great fit with Southern Utah Child Custody and Abuse Law. She enjoys working with clients and advocating for children.  In her free time, she loves to read, cook and ski with her husband and four children. She loves the beauty of southern Utah and especially enjoys tubing down the Virgin River on a warm, sunny day.
